Lavender Big Band is a community music project, creating performance opportunities in London and supporting members of the community to put on events to raise money for gender-affirming care.
We are currently running Jam Sessions, Musical History Nights and Musical Quiz Nights. Our events are created to get people involved through performance, curation and listening. We run in-house events to raise money for the band and bespoke events to support individuals more directly. Please fill in the form here to get in touch and begin planning an event with us.
We are currently looking for permanent members. If you play trumpet, saxophone, trombone, piano, guitar, drums, electric or double bass – we would love to hear from you! We are also open for other instruments, so please get in touch and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Take Part Arrangers and Composers
If you like putting creating and arranging scores, we would be interested to talk to you. We currently need 16-bar snippets to play at our quiz nights alongside opportunities to arrange and compose bigger scores to be played by a complete big band. Sign-up below!
Put on an Event
Our main focus is putting together events for members of the public to raise money for gender affirming care. We support with the administration alongside lending you a full band to fulfil your vision of the cabaret/evening with/concert that you would like to put on.
