Lavender Big Band

We are looking for players with strong ensemble musicianship who are looking for diverse performance opportunities around London. This is a charity project, aimed at raising money for community member’s gender affirming care.

You can sign-up as a casual performer to be added to our mailing list and be sent open-call opportunities. These open-call emails detail timings for rehearsals and performances, allowing you to pick events scheduled around your timetable. Whilst we are primarily looking for saxophonists, trumpeters, trombonists and rhythm instruments, we do sometimes have opportunities for other instruments so please get in touch if you would like to be considered.

We are currently looking for permanent band members alongside deps and reserves. Please fill out the corresponding form below. Please note that these positions are voluntary, although we aim to get to a point where we are able to reimburse for travel and other expenses.

Arrangers and Composers

We are looking for arrangers and composers who would like the opportunity for their work to be performed by a complete big band. We are always open to new submissions and are happy to hear and support you with any works in progress. We also run musical quizzes where the band performs 16-bar excerpts from popular pieces of music from across the decades. These can be classic big band pieces or arrangements of popular tunes.
