Lavender Big Band

Georgie is a pianist with a background across the classical, jazz and pop genres. They have played with a range of ensembles including orchestras, big bands and chamber groups – their biggest achievement was playing solo piano for Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, accompanying 7 singers. They current work as a coordinator for the Royal Ballet School, collecting Shirley Bassey CDs like they are going out of fashion and play a lot of backgammon.

Ivan is a woodwind doubler with experience in classical, jazz, and musical theatre genres. They co-founded the Royal Holloway Wind Orchestra in 2024, and have played in a variety of ensembles including symphony orchestras, big bands, theatre pit bands, and more. They work full time in the music department at The National Theatre, and can usually be found looking longingly at baritone saxophones on eBay.
